Work with them, and these days could not work without them. I remember when
I was 16 going to the local University for a two week coarse on computing.
Never got to see the computer (that filled most a floor of the computer
building) and the whole two weeks was spend learning BASIC and punching cards.
Programs to solve problems were usually written in a couple of hours, more time
was taken to prepare the punch cards, and submitted jobs where run overnight.
Hopefully the successful printout was picked up the next day, however that was
also when you found out it did not run for some reason. Today computers are an
indispensable tool. |
